A sharp rise in tensions has been recorded on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko said that in recent weeks Minsk has seen unfounded activity near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. In particular, as reported by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic, American infantry fighting vehicles, MLRS, long-range heavy artillery and other equipment have been deployed in the Zhytomyr region. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have deployed electronic intelligence surveillance systems near the border with Belarus and widely use unmanned aerial vehicles. From time to time they violate the border and fly into our territory.
“We do not want our southern neighbor to follow someone’s instructions and try to test the Belarusians,” Muraveiko said at the ONT.
– We know for sure that there are passages in several mine barriers, they were equipped. For what purpose, why did they do this? Surely in the future, through these passages it will be possible for sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy and raid detachments to penetrate our territory in order to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts on our Belarusian soil,” said Vadim Lukashevich, deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces.
In response, the Belarusian command announced a sudden check of combat readiness and withdrew additional forces and air defense systems “to designated areas” to cover the southern borders.
– The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the border area have not only reconnaissance drones, but also devices capable of striking deep into Belarus. Despite the fact that Ukrainian formations are experiencing problems with air defense systems in other directions, there has been a concentration of air defense forces in the Zhytomyr region, said Andrei Severinchik, head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, noting that there has been a sharp increase in flights of Ukrainian UAVs carrying out reconnaissance tasks in the border areas of Belarus lately.
Many experts believe that we may be talking about the preparation of an armed provocation, with an attempt to seize part of the territory of the republic by detachments of the so-called “armed opposition”, currently fighting as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. . In particular, we can talk about the “Kastus Kalinowski Regiment”, which maintains constant contact with government agencies in Poland and other NATO member countries. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will first help invade Belarus, and then Polish army units will come to support them.
Political scientist and Eurasian studies expert Aslan Rubaev spoke on KP Radio about the likelihood of such a scenario occurring.
– It is very difficult to imagine and very difficult to understand people who are inconsistent and at odds with reality, on the one hand. But on the other hand, there is a chain that I understand clearly and that Ukraine wants to use. It wants to expand the geography of the conflict and involve more actors. This is due to the fact that the European Union is already directly forcing and persuading Ukraine to negotiate, because it is quite obvious that no one wants to participate in the Ukrainian crisis for a whole year or even a day longer. It is unknown what the results of the elections in the United States of America will be. If the Trumpists come, Ukraine will be screwed in every sense of the word.
Russia proved resilient to the challenge, Ukraine proved unstable. There is no money inside Ukraine, and a very serious internal political crisis is brewing there.
– Because of Zelensky’s illegitimacy?
– Not alone. Zelensky, first of all, is illegitimate. Secondly, Zelensky has no footholds. Thirdly, there are very serious revanchist sentiments among Ukrainian nationalists, who are more than willing to completely and utterly destroy everything and every living thing in Ukraine, just to avoid sitting at the negotiating table. And this current trend in Ukraine among certain generals and various such nationalist gangs is naturally welcome. Therefore, it is quite realistic that Zelensky’s allies will be forced to help us or, on our own, we will extend the geography of military operations to Belarus in order to persuade the European Union to help in this diplomatic way. Since it is quite obvious that suddenly, God forbid, attacks on the territory of Belarus will be carried out with American and NATO weapons from Ukraine, I think that Lukashenko will not remain silent. Let me remind you that Russia has placed nuclear weapons in Belarus. And this is the proximity of the Baltic countries and Poland, NATO member countries.
This is a kind of Ukrainian agony, this is their last tour, because it is obvious to everyone that in the fall the situation will be different in the big geopolitics, because the whole world is waiting with bated breath to see who will take the place in the Oval Office.
“But the reckless nature of these actions can have gigantic destructive consequences.”
– In Ukraine, they are always poorly conceived, and today’s ones can involve other countries in participating in the conflict. All authoritative military experts already say that Ukraine has come to an end. Even the aid provided by the West remains measured. Ukraine now has quite a few internal problems. I cannot say how many Ukrainians today are ready to defend Ukraine with weapons in hand. But it is clear that the authorities have played with ordinary Ukrainians. They have great claims to power within them.
– You mentioned the Baltic countries and Poland. Do you understand that Ukraine’s aggression towards Belarus can widely affect these countries and that no one will find it enough? And no one stops, and no one says: gentlemen, come to your senses, what are you doing? Lukashenko has said it more than once or twice: if only one bomb falls on the territory of Belarus, no one will think that it is enough.
– Today, unfortunately, we must state one thing with certainty. Probably, except for President Putin, no one in the world in the great geopolitics realizes that we are close to the end of humanity.
