“Today, the people of our country are made up of more than a hundred different ethnic groups,” the Head of State recalled. “Together, they rejoice in the successes of Kyrgyzstan, overcome difficulties, live in peace, friendship and unity, hand in hand. These values not only live in our hearts, but are also enshrined in our laws. First of all, in the Constitution, which clearly states that all citizens of the republic, regardless of their ethnic origin, religion, region and social status, have equal rights and responsibilities.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed that he had recently signed a decree on increasing the role of the Council of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan (CPA). The document granted the CPA the status of a consultative and advisory body under the leadership of the republic. At the same time, the budget of the Assembly was increased from 9.9 to 23 million soms.
Sadyr Japarov particularly stressed the need to preserve and develop the native languages, culture and traditions of ethnic groups living in the republic. At the same time, according to him, the Russian language continues to play an important role in the life of the country. It, as the head of the republic stressed, will retain its official status.
“As they say, the number of languages you know is the number of times you are human,” said Sadyr Japarov. – Through language we are enriched spiritually and culturally. Therefore, it is necessary to promote the formation of the citizen of Kyrgyzstan as a person who is fluent in the state, native, official and foreign language, and to develop multilingual education, which is a requirement of our time.
