The sixth round of the RPL ended with a match between Lokomotiv and Rostov in Moscow. After Dynamo’s failure, the capital club could have become the leader of the standings, but to do so, it needed a win.
Mikhail Galaktionov’s team opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Midfielder Alexei Batrakov scored. But the Rostov team responded with a precise strike from Ronaldo. However, Lokomotiv went into the break with the lead.
Towards the end of the first half, Ilya Samoshnikov took his chance.
Almost immediately after the break, Galaktionov’s team extended their lead. Nair Tiknizyan put an end to the attack.
Rostov did not give up. Ronaldo scored in the end, but Karpin’s team did not have enough time. However, Rostov has questions for the referee of the match, Vladimir Moskalev. In the second half, he did not award the most obvious penalty against Lokomotiv and for some reason the VAR referee did not intervene in the episode.
Lokomotiv scored 15 points and took the lead in the RPL. Zenit, which is second, has 14 points.
