On March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. They were accused of participating in war crimes.
The Kremlin called the very question of the “arrest” scandalous and unacceptable. The Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that Moscow does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC, and any judicial decision is void from the point of view of the law.
