A missile boat is being built at the Vympel shipyard in Rybinsk, a source in the shipbuilding industry told TASS.
Two Project 12418 missile boats are being built at the Vympel shipyard. Their main strike weapon is the Uran anti-ship missile system with X-35 missiles. “Stupinets” got its name after the Project 1241 boat of the same name was withdrawn from the Caspian Flotilla.
The ship is designed to destroy surface combat ships, boats and other enemy vessels. It can operate independently or in a squadron with other ships. The Stupinets are supposed to serve in the Caspian Flotilla.
