The reaction to the possible entry of the Emirati Taqa into Naturgy has not taken long to arrive from Moncloa. The first vice president, María Jesús Montero, has highlighted the “very important strategic tasks” that the energy company has in Spain to bring the Government’s position closer to waiting for other investors who can join the capital company “clearly, transparently and if possible , of course, Spanish”, but “respecting the rules of competition to which all member states are subject”.
This was stated by the vice president in statements reported by the EFE Agency when asked by the media in Seville about the emergence of the energy giant based in Abu Dhabi in the Spanish company. Regarding this milestone, Montero has defended the restrictive position carried out by the Government to counteract “foreign investments” that may affect security in companies that have “strategic responsibilities” in Spain. Along these lines, the head of the Treasury has expressed his desire to incorporate other investors, remembering that it will be competition that will determine “the final result.”
