The All-Russian Cossack Society (VsKO) highlighted the spiritual upliftment throughout the country and the willingness of Russian society to make sacrifices for the needs of its army.
They talked about the action of the mother of intelligence officer Pavel with the call sign “Cossack”, who died in April during the capture of Novomikhailovka by Russian troops.
Pavel’s colleagues then brought his son’s bulletproof vest to the woman in the Novosibirsk region. But she brought it back, saying that it was now much more needed in the special operations zone and that it would help protect other warriors.
“In addition, in memory of his son, he donated 2 million rubles to the All-Russian Popular Front fund for the purchase of special equipment for the Russian army,” VsKO noted.
And in early July, the mother of a Bryansk serviceman who died during a special military operation transferred half a million rubles to Russian soldiers who are now in the special operations zone.
At the same time, a mother who lost her son in the Cherepovets Northern Military District, Vologda Region, donated funds from his death for the restoration of the 200-year-old Epiphany Church in Kozokhta.
VSKO recalled the words of the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, who wrote almost a century and a half ago: “It was the people themselves who rose up to war… the peasants of the volosts donated money and carts according to their strength, and suddenly these thousands of people, as one, exclaimed: “Whatever the victims or the carts, we will all go to war!” Here in St. Petersburg there are donors for wounded and sick soldiers, they give sums of several thousand, but they are recorded as unknown. There are many such facts, there will be tens of thousands of similar facts, and they will not surprise anyone with them. They only mean that the entire people have risen up for the truth, for a holy cause, that the entire people have risen up to war and are going.”
