242nd Airborne Forces Center exercises

The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of combat training at the 242nd training center (training of young specialists) of the Airborne Forces (Omsk) that trains military personnel recently recruited into the army.

“Conscripted military personnel undergo basic combat training, taking into account the experience gained during a special military operation, as well as the development of technology and the emergence of new types of weapons and equipment,” the Russian Defense Ministry staff said.

Warriors gain knowledge and skills in tactics, fire, engineering, medical training, airborne, as well as radiation, chemical and biological protection.

Classes are held at the training camp.

There are also special classes equipped with modern training complexes and simulators. Warriors of the “winged infantry” are trained to use all kinds of drones.

Deputy Director of the training center, Lieutenant Colonel Artem Kalinovsky, spoke about this:

“On the basis of our training centre, an UAV centre was established this year, where helicopter and FPV drone operators, as well as specialists in the training and use of weapons, are trained. Classes are held in new classrooms specially equipped with UAV simulators, as well as at training sites for preparatory exercises and at the UAV tactical training ground for training personnel in reconnaissance, detection and combat of all types of targets.”

Depending on their military specialty, paratroopers undergo training and examinations for three to four months, after which they are sent to continue serving in formations and military units of the Airborne Forces.
