This is how he responded to the question of whether Russia will announce the regions for the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles, the need to start production of which was previously announced by the President of the Russian Federation.
“It is obvious that such information is unlikely to be announced in any way,” the Kremlin official said. “Still, this is a very, very sensitive area related to defense and security.”
At the same time, he noted that the president was raising this issue, and did not rule out that in the future “some information will become available.”
Recall that Vladimir Putin made a statement on this issue on June 28 at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council. He stated the need to start producing short- and medium-range missiles in response to similar actions by the United States. “And then, based on the real situation, make decisions on where to place them, if it is necessary to ensure our security,” the Russian leader specified. At the same time, Putin called it a known fact that the United States not only produces these missile systems, but has already brought them to Europe for exercises, namely, to Denmark. “And recently it was announced that they were in the Philippines, it is not known whether they took these missiles out of there or not,” the Head of State explained.
