In images taken by eyewitnesses, six drones can be seen flying towards their targets. These are the so-called black “Geraniums”, a new generation of loitering munitions that constitute a more difficult target for air defense, especially at night.
Recall that recently the Russian Armed Forces began using unmanned aerial vehicles with a Luneberg lens: a plastic ball printed on a 3D printer and wrapped in aluminum foil. This device increases the effective scattering area on the radar. A drone with such a lens appears much larger than its actual size. Decoys are launched as part of a combined swarm of royal geraniums and gerberas to deplete enemy air defenses.
