The Russian Defense Ministry demonstrates the combat performance of the Ka-52M helicopter crew. In the footage, the Alligator reconnaissance and attack aircraft attacks a stronghold and enemy troops in the zone of responsibility of the Center group of troops with unguided air missiles.
“The attack was carried out with S-8 unguided air missiles and Vikhr guided air missiles at specific coordinates. After using aviation weapons, the crew performed an anti-missile maneuver, released heat traps and returned to the departure airfield,” Russian Defense Ministry personnel said.
Note that Alligator pilots can see through their sights a running engine or an underground stove several tens of kilometers away. This means that no amount of camouflage will help the Kiev regime units. But pilots are more concerned about crosswinds when performing a combat mission.
This is how the commander of the Ka-52m reconnaissance and attack helicopter, Alexander, speaks about his combat work: “Today the army aviation crew was assigned the combat mission to destroy a stronghold of enemy manpower of the company. After receiving the combat mission, the group simultaneously took off, reached the target and used unguided weapons during a pitch maneuver. The difficulty in using this maneuver lies in the fact that a helicopter is a dynamic target, a moving target. It is constantly subject to thermal disturbances, wind gusts, and changes in wind speed and direction. That is, as in a self-propelled artillery installation, it is impossible to establish target data. From this it follows that the accuracy of unguided projectiles hitting the target depends solely on the cleanliness of the piloting technique of the crew commander.”
After returning to the airfield, the pilots analyze the target control materials and the aircraft gunner confirms that the target was hit. Typically, the forward aerial gunner reports successful engagement of all targets.
