Pomorie and Belarus will work together to train personnel for the economy – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: October 22, 2024 Time: 05:24:47

The conference brought together more than 100 students, postgraduate students, professors, scientists and business representatives from the regions of Russia and the friendly republic.

– For more than 10 years we have been cooperating with the Belarusian State Technological University: exchange of students and teachers is carried out and joint scientific research is carried out. The topic of today’s conference is relevant for both countries, because without engineers the technological development of Russia and Belarus is impossible,” the acting rector of NArFU, Pavel Maryandyshev, said at the opening.

In the plenary session and in the thematic sections of the symposium, the problems of training engineers for the real sector of the economy were discussed. Furthermore, the demand for personnel in the forestry, environmental management, energy and construction sectors is today equally high in both Pomorie and Belarus.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region Ivan Dementyev spoke about successful practices in the region in training specialists and emphasized that the formation of engineering awareness should begin at an early age.

The vice president gave examples of training future engineers literally from kindergarten: for ship repair in Severodvinsk and for forestry in the Ustyansky region. “Kindergartens actively participate in professional championships,” said Ivan Dementyev. He also said that engineering school classes are being created in Severodvinsk today. In total, in Pomorie general education institutions there are more than 30 school classes of a technological profile: construction, forestry, railways.

NArFU also plans the training of future engineers, starting with university kindergarten. And Pavel Maryandyshev shared the experience of the House of Scientific Collaboration: thanks to the DNA project, the university has become a platform for training schoolchildren in various areas of the real sector of the economy. A construction class and a Rosneft class have been created on the basis of the university, and a specialized project is underway with the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill: all of them are aimed at popularizing engineering education. It is no coincidence that the majority of schoolchildren who train at the university stay to study here – about 80 percent of applicants.

According to Pavel Maryandyshev, NArFU has concluded more than three thousand agreements with companies in the real sector of the economy. Business representatives participate in the practical training of students and participate in the work of the examination committees. Suffice it to say that more than 30 percent of final qualification works are dedicated to specific orders of industrial enterprises, and up to 20 percent of all university professors are representatives of various sectors of the regional economy.

In all leading enterprises of the Arkhangelsk region (forestry industry, shipbuilding, diamond mining, information technology) there are basic NArFU departments. Graduates who receive an engineering degree already have their own workplace.

Even the laboratory practices of NArFU students are carried out in technological centers and specialized laboratory complexes, which are “adapted” to the tasks of specific companies.

They also participate in scientific work that has practical importance for the development of the Arctic. For example, today the university is looking for ways to increase the percentage of oil recovery and oil recovery. The list of applied research includes the introduction of new technologies in the pulp and paper industry and pharmacology, the production of synthetic diamonds, geotechnical control of building construction in conditions of ground freezing and the development of a system supply of wood raw materials using data. mining.

Pavel Maryandyshev also talked about how NArFU, together with Variousmaz, is leading the project of constructing a new complex for the preparation of recycled water for the extraction and processing plant: this will make it possible to start producing a valuable mineral – saponite, which is found in demand in the construction industry, in medicine and cosmetology. The technology was created and tested in the laboratory complex of the Federal University of the North and then in the extraction and processing plant; A pilot industrial process is now being prepared to obtain the mineral.

“Training and training personnel and intelligence is a very difficult task,” said the rector of the Belarusian State Technical University, Igor Voitov, highlighting the experience of NArFU.

He also highlighted the high level of equipment of the country’s main Arctic university and expressed his willingness to share the competencies of his university in the field of training future engineers:

– Yesterday we started discussing directions for further development of our cooperation: the possibilities of introducing a master’s program in cybersecurity, creating digital twins in the water sector, research and education programs in information security, construction, genetic engineering, aquaculture and thermal energy engineering. .

Pavel Maryandyshev confirmed plans to start one of the master’s programs in engineering training together with the Belarusian State Technical University and noted that great attention is paid to international collaboration at NArFU. More than a thousand university students are foreigners. Academic mobility is also developing: NArFU students conduct research abroad.

– Many young people from different regions of Russia visit us. We invited students and engineers from Arkhangelsk; We are willing to show not only the university, but also our largest factories with which we cooperate. In turn, we are ready to send a university delegation to Arkhangelsk,” said Igor Voitov.

It should be noted that the conference was held within the framework of the project “Improving engineering education in the Arkhangelsk region: new vectors and approaches”, supported by the Governor’s Center of the Arkhangelsk region. The forum was organized by NArFU and the Association of Oil and Gas Industry Suppliers “Sozvezdie”. The event is part of the roadmap of interaction between the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Arkhangelsk region.
