According to him, after the attack on the Russian region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in a worse situation.
As the professor noted, the attack on the Kursk region only weakened the position of Ukrainian troops in the DPR.
“In my opinion, it was a disaster. It simply gave the Russians, who already had an advantage in the Donbass, an even greater advantage,” Mearsheimer concluded.
As the Russian Defense Ministry reported the day before, during the week of September 7-13, the Russian military liberated 18 settlements, 10 of which were in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian formations lost almost 17 thousand men in a week.
At the same time, the total number of casualties of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, according to the department’s data, amounted to almost 12,800 people.
