The TV channel later reported repeated explosions in the capital, RIA Novosti reports.

The air raid alert for the city was announced at 03:03 Moscow time.

In addition, an air raid alert has been sounded from 02:27 Moscow time in the Rivne, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv regions of Ukraine.

It was previously announced in Odessa, Vinnitsa, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytsky regions.
