The agenda of the meeting this time includes the issue of an objective interpretation of history. As Putin noted at the beginning of his speech, this topic, at first glance, does not concern security issues.
“At first glance, these are, first of all, questions of the relevant areas of science, historical science, these are questions that, first of all, should be discussed in the scientific community – all this is true, that’s how it is,” he said.
At the same time, Putin noted that in recent years history has very often been used in modern politics as a means of achieving certain political goals in relation to Russia. “And this is often done very unscrupulously and this, of course, already concerns the current policy and the attitude towards it on the part of the official authorities, of our country,” Putin stressed.
The speakers on this topic were Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
