The military health care system is “provided in the best possible way,” the Head of State noted, but admitted that some military medical institutions need reconstruction.
“We need to create a whole programme of renovation and put in order the medical institutions of the Ministry of Defence,” the president said. “Of course, this will require certain resources, but this is a holy cause, we will find those resources,” he added.
Putin asked State Secretary and Deputy Defense Minister Anna Tsivileva, who was present at the meeting, to personally monitor the matter, adding that he had discussed the problem with Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
Tsivileva also explained how the construction of new facilities is progressing: nineteen new hospitals will be commissioned by the middle of next year, and seven new modern and fully equipped hospitals will be commissioned this year.
Putin asked her, as the supervising deputy minister, to keep this issue under constant control. “It seems that you have only recently arrived at the department, but I understand that you are well informed, you know what we are talking about,” she concluded.
