“You have done a lot for Crimea and, consequently, for the whole country, strengthening, I would say jokingly, Soviet power, strengthening the principles of all Russia,” the Head of State said.
The President wished Aksenov “all the best in his future work for the benefit of the Crimean people.”
Sergei Aksenov has been in charge of Crimea since 2014, when the peninsula returned to Russia. On September 12, deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea unanimously re-elected him as head of the region. Aksenov’s term of office is five years.
