Devices that allow you to hide numbers have been increasingly used in recent years. For example, the driver “turns over” the license plate and the surveillance camera captures the back of it.
Now the responsibility for driving a vehicle on which a device for concealing license plates is installed is included in a separate part of article 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. This offense will result in deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one year to one and a half years with confiscation of the device.
The discovered device will be confiscated. For driving a car without state signs, or if the sign is installed in the wrong place or is modified, for example, using reflective film, the penalty will remain unchanged. This is a fine of five thousand rubles or deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one to three months. But if such a violation is repeated within a year, the driver will be deprived of his license for a period of one to one and a half years.
Let us keep in mind that the amendments to the law cover cases in which the concealment of signs may not be entirely intentional.
