Residents of Kyrgyzstan’s interior asked the Russian government to build them a school – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

“Our area is far from cultural and scientific centers, but local residents urgently need access to the civilized world, which only the Russian language and quality education can give us and our children,” he explains. “Therefore, when Mikhail Mishustin announced that Russia would build nine secondary schools in Kyrgyzstan, where children would be taught in Russian and using advanced Russian educational methods, local residents began to hope that one of these schools would appear in our region. But, unfortunately, we were overlooked when it came to choosing the place.

For this reason, as the editorial interlocutor explains, it was decided to contact the head of the Russian government directly.

“Many Russians lived in our area,” says Salambek Nyshanaliev. – Especially in the postwar period. They were engineers, mechanics, doctors, teachers. They shared their experience and professional knowledge with us. We lived together. Unfortunately, now we have no more Russians left: with the closure of companies, almost all of them returned to their historical homeland or approached Bishkek. The Russian language began to gradually disappear from everyday life. Nowadays, it is mainly spoken only by older people. At the same time, we perfectly understand that the world is open to those who speak Russian and are well educated. We, our children, need this to understand life, cultural exchange and scientific and technological progress.

A representative of the initiative group notes that it would be great if the educational institution received boarding school status. This will allow not only local children to study there, but also children from the neighboring town council.

– Please, a living example: in the village of Kochkor-Ata, Nooken district, Jalal-Abad region, there is a school where Russian is taught. And parents from a neighboring town, 10 kilometers away, rented a minibus. Every day children are needed to study in this Russian language school. And throughout the republic there are enough examples that residents are ready to incur additional costs and inconveniences so that their children receive a quality education and study in Russian, Salambek Nyshanaliev highlights.

At the same time

Another reason why, according to the initiative group, this area deserves Russian educational support is the past of local residents. The parents and grandparents of the people who lived in the mentioned town halls proved to be true heroes on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Ten people were awarded the Order of the Red Banner. And our contemporary, originally from the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region, Azatbek Omurbekov, who accepted Russian citizenship, worthily continues the traditions of his ancestors and serves in the Russian army. By decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin of April 18, 2022, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for his bravery and heroism. These inextricable historical links, local residents believe, should not only be preserved, but also developed and new ones built. This is what the school they hope for should contribute to.
