The plant begins to bloom in April, and the berries ripen in June-July and have an orange-red color. May lily of the valley is found in deciduous, pine and mixed forests of the European part of Russia, Transbaikalia, the Amur region, Primorye, as well as on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
Another dangerous plant is the crow’s eye: one of its berries can be fatal. “The crow’s eye blooms in July, and the berries ripen at the end of August. The crow’s eye grows in forests almost throughout Europe, the Urals, the Caucasus and Western Siberia,” the department states.
Wolfsbane berries can also cause death. Even contact with the moist bark or sap of the plants causes dermatitis. In central Russia, the plant blooms in early spring, and the berries appear in July. You can meet wolfsbane throughout the European part, in the Caucasus and Siberia.
