According to the television station, the man was a pilot. A few hours before the plane crash, he sent his loved ones a video from the plane, which he filmed at an altitude of 8.5 kilometers.
As Selivanets’ brother noted, they had not seen each other for many years, rarely called each other, but often corresponded.
“And then, before flying to Sudan, he called me unexpectedly and told me that he missed me and that he wanted to come on vacation to see all his relatives and visit his father’s grave,” said the television channel’s interlocutor.
He also added that Selivanets often flew to military conflict zones and transported humanitarian supplies there. He still has family in Russia.
Previously, Shot published a photo of Selivanets’ passport found at the crash site. However, the Telegram channel calls the man an aeronautical engineer and clarifies that he was 33 years old and was from the city of Tuymazy in Bashkiria. Documents of the chief engineer of Airline Transport Incorporation FZC, Viktor Granov, who could also be on board the plane, were also found there.
Let us remember that an Il-76 was shot down in western Sudan, the crew of which could have included citizens of the Russian Federation. According to media reports, the plane was flying to assist another plane that was damaged during landing in West Kordofan. The downed plane was supposed to deliver spare parts and engineers.
The Russian Embassy together with the Sudanese authorities are clarifying the circumstances of the incident. There is fighting in the disaster zone, which complicates the situation.
