Before this, Apple and Google took a similar step. In fact, Samsung Pay remained the only proprietary app that still supported Mir cards. Now those people will no longer be left.
In addition, Google, owner of the Android operating system, removed from its application store everything related to the Russian payment system: Mir Pay, SBPay and “Hello MIR”. Now owners of other Android smartphones will not be able to pay at the checkout with a single touch. It’s true that not everything is so sad…

As for androids, it’s even simpler. The Mir Pay app can be downloaded from the Russian equivalent of the app store – RuStore. For this type of contactless payment, iPhone owners can use stickers or pay via QR code. Apple does not allow third-party developers to access the NFC system.
