At the Saratov College of Arts (then the Saratov Choreographic School), Gennady Gershevich taught from 1970 to 1990 and was its artistic director for six years, from 1982 to 1988.
As they said at the university, among Albert’s students are Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation Andrei Utenkov and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Daniil Kurynov.
At the same time, since 1968, the famous artist was a soloist of the ballet troupe of the Saratov Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. On the Saratov stage he became the first performer of the roles of Anthony, Hamlet and Quasimodo.
He played leading roles in the ballets “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, “Corsair”, “Giselle”, “La Bayadère”, “Don Quixote”, “The Bakhchisarai Fountain”, “Juno and to you”. ”.
In 1990, Gennady Albert took over as director of the St. Petersburg State Academic Eifman Ballet Theatre, where he worked until 2017.
His colleagues describe him as “a brilliant ballet performer and teacher, dance researcher and theater figure.”
The artist wrote a book about his teacher at the Leningrad Choreographic School “Alexander Pushkin. School of Classical Dance” and many articles on ballet pedagogy.
