The annual Scan Awards for contemporary art are now accepting applications from artists. In 2024, the competition will be held for the second time and will expand its scope, geography and prize.
Grants for original works of contemporary art will be awarded to artists working and living in the territories of Siberia, the Urals and the Far East. Works created between 1 January and 1 October 2024 are considered.
This year, the award will expand the list of nominations to five: the jury will recognize the “Artwork of the Year”, as well as young artists under 35 with a new project, artists, curators and researchers in the “Project of the Year” category and will award a grant of 250,000 rubles to the “Artist of the Year”. The contribution of Krasnoyarsk artists to contemporary art will also be mentioned separately.
Applications will be accepted until October 1, and a shortlist for the award will be determined after 10 days. The winners will be announced at the Scan Awards ceremony in Krasnoyarsk on November 6.
