The first contemporary art fair in Siberia, Scan Fair, has opened in the creative centre of Kvadrat. A public programme was launched at the fair on 28 June, which included discussions on the art market and patronage in the regions, public talks on which cultural projects are markers of regions on the cultural map of Russia, as well as career lectures for young artists. Scan Fair will last until 2 July.
On the day of the closed VIP presentation – June 27 – guests purchased over 33 works of art worth 1.1 million rubles. The fair became the first art event of this scale in Siberia – the exhibition brought together 41 artists and 5 art galleries (CCA “Fire”, Art Object Gallery, Axa Gallery, Miras Gallery, Larisa Deperschmidt Gallery) from 15 cities – Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Blagoveshchensk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Ulan-Ude, Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Tara, Ufa, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Chelyabinsk, as well as artists from South Korea.
We would like to remind you that on June 27, the first physical art gallery in Russia, VS Gallery, opened a personal exhibition of one of the gallery’s leading resident artists, Julia Nizamutdinova (Julia Cyberflora).
