In the match of the fourth round of the group stage of the Russian Football Cup RPL, Spartak hosted Krylya Sovetov from Samara. This season the teams have already met twice and the team from Samara definitely has no positive memories. The red-and-whites won both matches with the same score of 3:0.
This time, Spartak coach Dejan Stankovic left Ezequiel Barco and Manfred Ugalde in the reserves, freeing up Shamar Nicholson in attack. And the Jamaican national team player on his debut scored the goal for Wings (1-0). Halfway through the half, Roman Zobnin consolidated the team’s success at 2-0, and then Samara defender Kirill Pechenin, in a tussle with Nicholson, put the ball into his own net at 3-0.
In the second half, ex-Spartak player Vladislav Shitov “soaked” the score. And in the end, Samara was left with nine players: first, Maxim Vitiugov was injured and the guests no longer had replacements, and then Pechenin was sent off the field.
However, Spartak eventually brought the game to a great conclusion: debutant Ricardo Mangas scored the final score of 4:1.
Spartak has 9 points and takes first place in the group. Dynamo Moscow has 8 and Makhachkala has 7.
