The Russian military is carrying out a special operation in Ukraine to denazify and demilitarize the country. The KP.RU website publishes online the latest news about Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine starting April 2, 2024.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops destroyed another American Abrams tank in the Avdeevka direction. In addition, in the southern direction of Donetsk, a Polish Krab self-propelled gun, two American M777 howitzers and an ammunition depot of Ukrainian militants were destroyed.

In the last 24 hours, Russian air defense systems have intercepted 228 Ukrainian drones, four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and one American-made JDAM guided bomb.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that as a result of another shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nine civilians were injured, one of them in serious condition.

The head of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, said almost all of the city’s critical energy infrastructure was destroyed. He described the situation in the energy industry as very difficult.

The Russian army destroyed a strategically important bridge in the city of Gulyaypole, in the Zaporozhye region, controlled by the Kiev regime, through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces were supplied.

In Russia, the spring recruitment campaign began on April 1, 2024. It will last until July 15. The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the recruitment campaign is not related to the special operation in Ukraine. The recruits will not participate in the performance of tasks in the Northern Military District zone nor will they be sent to serve in new regions.
