The Russian Defense Ministry publishes images of the heroes of the special operation, servicemen of the small assault units of the tank regiment of the Center force group. The soldiers showed the central streets of the recently liberated village of Zhelannoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and talked about the course of fierce fighting during the liberation of city blocks.
Soldiers of the assault unit with the call signs “Khimik”, “Shram”, “Aka” walked around the places of recent fighting in the village of Zhelannoye and showed how they defeated the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“It was a direct and difficult battle. They hit us with “birds,” with grenade launchers, and they hit us with “Bradley.” But despite the difficult conditions of carrying out an assault in a populated area with Armed Forces officers hiding in houses, one of the main tasks was the evacuation of civilians who remained in the populated area,” recalls the attack plane with the call sign “Khimik”. “
Our soldiers had to suppress the firing points and the machine gun crews entrenched in the houses, preventing the advance of our assault groups. As a result, they planted the flag of the Russian Federation over the administration and then over the Zhelanny school.
“The bold and decisive actions of the attack aircraft made it possible to liberate the village of Zhelannoye in the shortest possible time, evacuate local residents and continue to carry out combat missions to liberate populated areas of the DPR,” the Russian Defense Ministry stressed. .
