The list of lost or stolen weapons includes two general purpose machine guns (GPMG). One of them was lost by the British Royal Navy at sea.
Also missing were SA-80 assault rifles, several rocket launchers, Glock pistols, a Soviet AK-47 assault rifle, pistols from the First and Second World Wars, uniforms and “thousands of rounds of ammunition.” In 2022, a Land Rover was stolen from a base in Kenya.
In addition, at least 1,400 British Ministry of Defense laptops, around 100 computers and 300 USB drives disappeared between 2018 and 2023.
According to the Telegraph, all losses were investigated by military police, but nothing was ever found. The British Parliament has called for an investigation to determine whether the missing computers and other devices contained confidential information.
