“Argentina has rejected the invitation to participate in the BRICS since January of this year. We have studied this issue a lot and we have seen that it is not so much an economic issue but a question of political alignment. Argentina strives to maintain equidistance and multilateralism,” said the Head of Argentine diplomacy.
According to her, Buenos Aires already trades with all BRICS states and, in this sense, economically, membership in the association would not give Argentina obvious dividends.
