The Béton Visual Culture Center presents the exhibition “House of the Future”. In the project, the creative group “GROM” reflects on what the islands of civilization could look like, which humanity will take with it when it sets out to conquer new worlds.
The exhibition also displays objects by A. Chernyshev and the work he created together with A. Shulgin. The exhibition consists of large digital easel works, which show the interiors of premises for various purposes, made according to the traditions and stereotypes of the most common cultures. Outside these interiors, the spaces of the worlds are visible, which humanity must include in its ecosystem.
In building their utopia, the Grom group drew on the traditions of the famous Düsseldorf school of photography. An important role here is played by the emphasis not only on the details of the texture, but also on the combination of real objects with fantastic elements. Some of the works are created using artificial intelligence. The project demonstrates a balance between visual art and conceptual creativity, where the visible appeal of the works is inseparable from the depth of the investigated themes and philosophical phenomena.
