A few days ago the whole country learned about the Sakhalin Robinsonade, the reality of which is impossible to believe. Mikhail Pichugin, 46, from Ulan-Ude, was adrift for more than 66 days on a boat swept away by the current in the Sea of Okhotsk along with two bodies of relatives (a brother and his son), without food. or water. He was fishing, hallucinating and was accidentally discovered by a fishing boat. All this time, the man’s family did not give up and overwhelmed the prosecutor’s office with demands to continue the search, even though more than two months had passed since Pichugin and his relatives went to sea. Volunteers searched for the man along the coasts of Sakhalin and Khabarovsk. During this time, Mikhail lost 50 kilos, and almost all this time he lived without fresh water (he passed sea water through his clothes to desalinate them as much as possible).

Incredible but true! He is alive. More precisely, a survivor: this could be called our response to Alejandro Inarittu’s Oscar-winning film of the same name, in which Leonardo DiCaprio played the lead role. Of course, the screenwriters immediately latched onto Pichugin’s story. And the first to announce his desire for a film adaptation (no, not Sarik Andreasyan!) was the author of the script for the series “The Boy’s Word”. Blood on the Asphalt” and the painting “One Hundred Years Ahead” by Andrey Zolotarev.

“I know this story and I consider it material for a possible film adaptation,” admitted the screenwriter.

It has not yet been announced who could become producer and director of said film. Zhora Kryzhovnikov, with whom Zolotarev worked on “The Boy’s Word”, is currently filming a remake of the Soviet melodrama “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears” in serial format. Alexander Andryushchenko, who directed “One Hundred Years Ahead” according to Zolotarev’s script, is working on the same project, but at the same time the director is working on a new film adaptation of the fairy tale about Buratino.
