The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of the combat work of artillery units with 120-mm 2S9 “Nona-S” self-propelled guns of Russian paratroopers in the border region of the Kursk region.

“During reconnaissance, search and aerial reconnaissance operations, the paratroopers discovered a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a forest plantation with Ukrainian nationalists hiding in it. The coordinates of the enemy positions were immediately transferred to the artillery control point for destruction,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The crew of the self-propelled gun “Nona”, under the control of paratroopers with the call signs “Ezh” and “Kuzya”, headed to a firing position, from where they destroyed the manpower of Ukrainian militants in the forest belt.

The military department notes that the gunners of the “winged infantry” can see the enemy several kilometers away at night, even in the forest, due to the temperature difference. With the help of night vision devices and thermal imaging equipment, they confidently destroy the enemy.

Target recognition, fire adjustment and objective control of the impact of targets with firearms are carried out using drones.

Targets not hit by the Ezha and Kuzi self-propelled guns are handed over to the army aviation crew. The Mi-28NM helicopter destroys enemy manpower and armored vehicles with missiles.
