Even today, three days later, the flow of people to the site of the tragedy near the concert hall does not decrease, and next to its walls another wall, made of flowers and toys, is growing. People carry notes with prayers and words of support for the families of the dead and injured. They carry signs with the names of cities and countries. Here are Saransk, Magadan, Kostroma… Moldova, Azerbaijan. Crown of the Egyptian Embassy. Many children’s drawings and candles.
On the prayer sheets are these words:
“O Allah, forgive us all our sins and grant the dead a good place in Akhirat,” is written on one of them.
A memorial service for the victims of the terrorist attack is being held nearby. The nun carries the icon of the “Mother of God” along the line of people at the monument, crosses themselves and kisses her holy face.
The tragedy united people from different cities and countries.
“I came here because of the calling of my heart, because we, the Russian people, must be united in the face of tragedy,” says Tatyana Nesterova from Odintsovo. She also wrote emotional poems about what happened. There are these lines:
“We will remember and commemorate the innocent
And the whole country will be in mourning,
And we will ask the Lord everything,
So that everyone who commits
I was judged!”
But the couple is from the Tver region. We came to Krasnogorsk to bring flowers to the monument and show that Russia cannot be broken.
“We are here for this,” they say with confidence.
There are also citizens of other countries:
“I was struck by the cynical silence of the German public regarding the terrorist attack in Crocus,” indignant German blogger Maria Jansen. “I came here specifically to tell my audience the truth about what happened.”
Earlier, the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, said that the search operation at the Crocus City Hall would last until approximately 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.
Rescue teams continue their work at the scene of the tragedy.
From the moment the police authorities allowed the cars to be removed from the parking lot in front of the concert hall, there were almost no cars left. Some were removed by cranes, others by the owners themselves. There are only a few cars left in the parking lot. Their owners may never come again…
