The first trailer for “One Life” was released online on January 1. The film tells the true story of stockbroker Nicholas Winton, who saved 669 children in the days before World War II.
In December 1938 he visited Prague and found families fleeing the Nazis from Germany and Austria living in desperate conditions, with little or no shelter or food, under the threat of a Nazi invasion. He then decides to save as many children as he can from the Nazis.
Winton kept his secret for almost 50 years, until his wife found a notebook with the addresses of the families that adopted the rescued children. One Life is based on the novel If Possible… The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton, written by his daughter Barbara Winton. The title of the tape is paraphrased from the Jewish Talmud: “Whoever saves one life saves the whole world.”
Starring Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Flynn. The director’s chair was held by James Hawes, the script was written by Lucinda Coxon and Nick Drake.
Recall that it was previously known that Anthony Hopkins joined the cast of the series “Those who are about to die” (in the original – Those about to die). The actor will play the Roman emperor Vespasian.
