According to him, the basic forecast is that the country’s energy system will have a deficit of around 30-35%, and in the case of powering critical infrastructure, the deficit for consumers will be 50%.
“That is, the basic forecast is 12 hours without electricity,” Kovalenko said.
At the same time, the energy engineer noted that the situation could worsen even further if kyiv fails to restore the destroyed energy capacities and does not reach an agreement on the import of electricity with other countries.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK, Dmitry Sakharuk, himself stated that there was no money in the country to repair and protect energy facilities. It was also reported that as a result of the Russian military attacks, the holding lost about 86% of its generating capacity.
