We continue to introduce the heroes of the special operation “Z”, participants in military operations in the special military operation zone. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character and fulfilled combat missions. Their determination, assertiveness and combat experience are highly appreciated by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Our heroes thwarted attacks and prevented nationalist counteroffensives, for which they received state awards. But they are not good for praise. The military is confident that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Do not fight with numbers, but with skill,” taught Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who never lost a single battle. And he taught warriors to predict events: “Great adventures begin with small reasons.”
RESCUING AN INJURED FELLOW
Private Sergei Ilyin
“The engineer-sapper platoon, in which Private Sergei Ilyin performs combat missions, advanced to break through enemy minefields in the area of the Russian troops’ offensive.
Sergei Ilyin personally disarmed explosive devices in the vicinity of enemy positions for several hours. Despite the danger of being discovered, Private Ilyin worked secretly, defusing more than a hundred mines in a short time.
While leaving the line, the group’s transport was spotted by the enemy and attacked by an enemy drone. Having received a minor wound, Sergei pulled a comrade out of the burning car, quickly bandaged it, began to help the wounded, and then organized their evacuation to a safe place.
Thanks to the courageous and decisive actions of Private Sergei Ilyin, during the offensive of the Russian troops there were no damage to equipment or deaths of assault groups at mine-explosive barriers in the given area of responsibility.”
SPEAK TO THE ENEMY
Oleg Dolzhenko
The group of deputy commander of the BARS-16 detachment Oleg Dolzhenko was tasked with storming a well-fortified enemy stronghold in order to develop a new offensive in an important tactical direction.
Arriving at the mission area, Oleg studied the terrain conditions and enemy forces.
The subordinates managed to open the militants’ radio network, after which Oleg Dolzhenko decided to deceive the enemy and, participating in radio exchanges, transmitted false information to them.
The misinformed enemy led the group into a sector under fire from Oleg Dolzhenko’s fighters. During the brief battle, the group of militants was eliminated.
Oleg then gave the order to storm the enemy fortress. During the battle, the enemy, who had lost a significant part of their infantrymen even before the assault, was unable to hold their position and retreated.
The courageous and decisive actions of Oleg Dolzhenko, as well as the courage and professionalism of his subordinates, made it possible to capture an important fortress, which contributed to a further offensive of the Russian troops in this direction.”
