His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.

The militants managed to establish the position of the Russian group and tried to attack the Russian army with the forces of a sabotage and reconnaissance group. Maxim quickly identified the direction of the enemy’s attack, determined the reference points for the personnel and designated the sectors of fire. Having taken over the defense in his area of responsibility, Maxim Korotov destroyed three militants with aimed fire from small arms, preventing them from outflanking the Russian unit. During the battle, Maxim Korotov was injured, but despite being wounded, he continued his combat mission. Having successfully repulsed all the attacks of the militants, causing significant damage to them, the group quickly changed its position and continued reconnaissance, as a result of which a camouflaged American-made howitzer was discovered. Having transmitted to the command post information about its location, the coordinates of the target and correcting the fire, as a result of the attack of the Russian rocket artillery battery, the howitzer was destroyed along with the crew.

“The deputy commander of the Guards marine battalion, Captain Alexei Volkov, carried out the tasks of organizing the defense in one of the tactical areas. Aleksey’s battalion quickly carried out a series of measures to protect his unit from weapons of destruction and dug in on the line of defense. The enemy, seeking to break through the defenses of our troops and dislodge the Russian military from the occupied line, attacked the positions of the Marines three times with the forces of assault groups and armored vehicles, in addition to attacking with the use of artillery. and mortars Being under fire from the nationalists, Volkov quickly identified the directions of attacks and firing points of the enemy, led his subordinates in battle, transmitted the coordinates of the targets in order to organize artillery support. Thanks to the clear and competent actions of the officer, the battalion personnel, holding back the enemy’s attack and inflicting significant damage on him, went on the counteroffensive. The defeated militants were forced to withdraw to their original lines. The competent, confident and decisive actions of the guard captain Alexei Volkov made it possible to fulfill the assigned combat mission, to hold his positions, which further contributed to the successful advance of the Russian troops in this direction.
