At the moment it is known that the Kia Tasman is a structured SUV, and one of its modifications will be diesel. The most likely option seems to be the 2.2 CRDi in the Kia Sportage, but a three-liter V6 turbodiesel version may be offered in some markets.
Kia says the Tasman will have “impressive off-road capabilities.” It is also known that the Kia pickup truck has a continuous axle at the rear, the loading capacity is 1 ton, and the towing capacity reaches 3.5 tons.
Kia Tasman will be presented in the mid-size pickup segment, which means it will compete with a whole galaxy of models that have proven themselves for decades: Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50 . and Volkswagen Amarok.
The main markets for Kia’s first pickup truck in the brand’s modern history are: Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Korea, Africa and the Middle East.
The new Tasman will debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia on October 29.
