In addition, by order of the Ministry of Finance, rum is included in the list of drinks with an officially established minimum price. Now half a liter of pirated drink should cost at least 403 rubles.
“Increasing the minimum sales prices for alcohol is a necessary and logical measure,” Vadim Drobiz commented on the situation to kp.ru. – The costs of its production, alcohol and other ingredients, general expenses, transportation, imported components, salaries of workers involved in production, transportation and trade increase…
According to the expert, this increase will not affect the alcohol market.
“Increasing the cost of a bottle of vodka by 18 rubles will not lead to a reduction in consumption or to the transition of vodka lovers to substitutes,” Drobiz is sure. – An average man drinks an average bottle of vodka a week. His monthly expenses will increase by less than 100 rubles – this is not a reason to switch to cheaper products or give up his habits. The same goes for other drinks.
Minimum retail prices for alcohol have been set since 2009 to combat illegal production. According to the expert, this is no longer relevant.
“Before the introduction of the EGAIS system, the minimum retail price was a sure indicator of the legality of production,” Drobiz said. – Cheaper means that the product is illegal. But now in the retail trade of alcohol there is the Unified State Automated Information System (EGAIS), which will not allow illegal goods to pass through.
However, the expert agreed that the price is even more obvious. Along with retail prices, minimum wholesale and sales prices will also increase.
