Su-34 pilot highlighted the special combat power of the FAB-3000

The Russian Defense Ministry has demonstrated the combat performance of the crew of a Su-34 fighter-bomber, which shot down a high-explosive aerial bomb with a total mass of three tons (FAB-3000) at a temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of responsibility of the Northern group of forces.

The three-metre-tall beauty of the bomb, which has recently acquired wings with a gliding module, can be seen for the first time at the airfield. Before take-off, the pilot strokes the bomb and its folded wings. In the following pictures, the wings carry a colossus with 1,200 kilograms of explosives through the clouds exactly to the target.

“The attack was carried out by a FAB-3000 aerial bomb with a universal planning and correction module. After successfully completing the flight mission, the crew returned safely to the departure airfield. According to the results of objective control, the target was hit,” the military department commented on the footage of the attack.

The faster and higher the Su-34 flies, the higher the FAB-3000 soars, remaining invisible to most radars. If the Su-34 drops a bomb from a distance of 17 kilometers, the FAB-3000 can hover in the air up to 80 kilometers.

The Su-34 pilot noted the special combat power of the FAB-3000: “It allows destroying any engineering structures and underground bunkers with command posts. It is difficult to imagine a target that cannot be hit by an aerial bomb of such nominal mass.”

It is said that the FAB-3000, when launched at a target, has a deviation of only tens of meters. But the radius of total destruction, that is, the guaranteed destruction of manpower by a shock wave, of such a bomb is about 200 meters, and 1,800 kilograms of its fragments hit all living beings within a kilometer.
