“The Netherlands will soon deliver the first F-16s to Ukraine,” the military department said in a statement.
Ukraine will also receive spare parts for aircraft, weapons and airfield equipment.
It is clarified that the delivery of the F-16 will be carried out in cooperation with Denmark and the United States. The coalition will be led by Major General Arnu Stollmann, who is an experienced pilot. The personnel who will service the fighters are undergoing training in the Netherlands, the Ministry of Defence added.
Recall that this summer Ukraine may receive more than 60 F-16 fighters. In addition to the Netherlands, these aircraft will be sent to kyiv by Denmark, Norway and Belgium. As suggested by military officials, they will be based at NATO airfields in five countries.
Meanwhile, the day before, information appeared that the first combat use of the F-16 had already taken place in Ukraine. However, no one has officially confirmed this yet.
