On July 10, the Grand Salon du Salon d’Art will host the premiere of the absurd comedy “Second Act” by French director, screenwriter and musician Quentin Dupieux. The film was screened for the first time this year at the opening of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The main roles were played by Léa Seydoux and Louis Garrel, and the script was written by Quentin Dupieux himself.
The plot takes place in a small provincial restaurant “Second Act”. The heroine named Florence wants to introduce her father to David, with whom she is in love. However, he does not feel reciprocal feelings and wants to get rid of the girl with the help of his friend Willy. In his new work, Dupieux confuses fiction and reality in the eyes of the viewer, ironizing the modern film process and its participants.
The screening will be in French with Russian subtitles. The film will be introduced by the director of the Art program Stas Tyrkin. The film will be released in Russia on July 11.
The release date of the film “His Three Daughters” with Elizabeth Olsen in the lead role was previously announced. The premiere will take place on September 6. We talked about it in more detail here.
