Observers recall that in July, during a conference call, Grodno Governor Vladimir Karanik informed the head of state about the progress of the collection campaign in his region. According to him, there were no special problems at that time: equipment was repaired, there were personnel, sources of financing were identified.
True, in the region in May-June precipitation fell “only 28 percent of the norm.” But farms suffered less than in other areas. And if farmers fall short of last year’s record number, then the standard amount of grain the region usually receives will be harvested. “Together with the available reserves and the decision to buy grain outside the country, we don’t see any problem in providing grain to livestock and the population,” Karanik said.
By the way, according to him, in the Grodno region, one of the largest loads per combine is more than 300 hectares. In this sense, the president thanked the country’s leadership for the decision to acquire a hundred combines. And in total this year it is planned to put into operation 147 new machines of various modifications in the region.
