Ram “Baba Yaga” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border area of the Kursk region
The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces knocking out Baba Yaga in the night sky over the border region of the Kursk Oblast.
“The footage shows the neutralization of the Baba Yaga unmanned aerial vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a Russian military FPV drone operator in the air,” the military department comments in the recording.
They also said that heavy drones of the Baba Yaga helicopter type mine the roads at night, which slows down the liberation of border territories. Our warriors have learned to destroy them using small, cheap drones. They use them to immobilize the propellers of enemy drones.
So, the other day, in the border region of the Kursk region, the Ukrainian “Baba Yaga” was caught with a string bag. The operator simply dropped a piece of camouflage net over its propellers. “Baba Yaga” got confused and fell to the ground.
Just a few years ago, heavy industrial hexacopters of the Baba Yaga type were peacefully spraying pesticides on British strawberries. This harmful production was directed by Ukrainians who spent years working in those very fields. When these drone operators were recruited by the Ukrainian military, they offered to use the hexacopters they were familiar with to launch 82mm mortar shells. European companies were happy to cancel the old British drones in favour of Zelensky.
However, heavy hexacopters are not designed for combat. Their engines are too noisy. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine often use Baba Yaga for nighttime mining of roads and approaches to various objects.
Note that after the crash, the software of the Ukrainian drones is corrected and they continue to perform combat missions in the interests of our groups.
Recall that recently, during an anti-drone battle, Russian Guard fighters ambushed an enemy hexacopter “Baba Yaga”.
At night, the National Guard planted explosives in the damaged car and heated the engine with a blowtorch. The APU operator detected a decoy on the thermal imager and tried to attack the vehicle with Baba Yaga. When it descended to the minimum height for dropping ammunition, the Russian Guard soldiers remotely detonated the decoy target. The Baba Yaga hexacopter was shot down by a shock wave and fragments.
