The new UAV has only been in combat for a few weeks
Pacific Fleet marines have begun to effectively use the latest Russian Molniya-1 drone with artificial intelligence elements.
It turns off communication with the operator at the slightest radiation from the ground. In the absence of a connection with the operator, it remains invisible to enemy electronic warfare (EW) systems. This gives it the opportunity to freely traverse the territory irradiated by electronic warfare systems.
Once behind enemy lines, where there is no strong interference, it reconnects with the operator. And the operator can only select unprotected positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where there are howitzers, armored vehicles and motor vehicles. The drone can carry powerful high-explosive bombs and shaped charges.
“The new UAV has been in combat for only a few weeks. During this time, the crew of the attack drone has acquired a self-propelled artillery unit, three howitzers and ten vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The department also notes that Molniya-1 is an aircraft-type attack drone with an improved battery that allows it to attack the enemy at a distance of up to 30 kilometers.
