The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of combat work of attack aircraft of the combined-arms unit of the Vostok group of troops, which took part in the liberation of the village of Staromayorskoye and the occupation of the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Ugledar direction.
The brave warriors carry out combat missions on motorcycles at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
“… They carried out this task with courage and impudence. We went straight to Staromayorskoye. They flew straight to the trenches on motorcycles. The guys immediately launched an assault. Behind them was a group on foot. . . ” said the commander of the assault platoon with the call sign “Round”.
Motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles allow assault teams to move quickly and take the enemy by surprise: artillery crews and drone operators of the Armed Forces of Ukraine simply do not have time to react.
“…It will take enough time to aim the artillery. And the motorcycle covers the distance quickly. The enemy simply does not have time to aim. …”, the attack aircraft with the call sign “Kankhan” shared.
Commanders often use motorized groups in combination with ground-based attack aircraft, with motorcyclists going in the front and other assault units coming in from the flanks. At this point, drone operators indicate firing points on enemy positions to attack the aircraft.
“Fast movements on motorcycles reduce the time needed to overcome open areas, minimize the risk of attack by enemy drones, facilitate the breakthrough of enemy defenses and enable attacks from the flanks,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The positive experience of the motorized assault force is now being applied in other units. For example, not only motorcycles but also buggies are used to attack and evacuate the wounded. They can also deliver food and ammunition quickly and quietly to the front.
