This long criminal saga associated with the name of People’s Artist of the USSR Alexei Batalov still has no end in sight. There is a novel by a German writer with an appropriate title, The Neverending Story. What happened this time: on July 12, the Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court satisfied (not in full) the claims of Natalia Drozhzhina and Mikhail Tsivin against the Batalov family. The court decided to recover about 900 thousand rubles from the widow and daughter of the People’s Artist of the USSR in favor of actress Natalya Drozhzhina and her husband Mikhail Tsivin. They really asked for more as compensation for the “unjust enrichment” of the Batalovs at their expense.
At the same time, exactly a year ago, the widow and daughter of Alexei Batalov won a civil case in the Dorogomilovsky court. His claims for recovery of the unjust enrichment of Mikhail Tsivin and his wife Natalya Drozhzhina were fully satisfied. The court ruled to return the money to Gitana Leontenko and Maria Batalova, which the entrepreneurial spouses withdrew from their bank accounts by proxy. The amount is impressive: more than 200 thousand dollars, 100 thousand euros and about 2 million rubles…
Now the coin suddenly turned the other way: it was not Tsivin and Drozhzhina who got rich at the expense of the Batalovs, but vice versa.
– For the first time, the court at least partially took the side of Mikhail Tsivin and Natalya Drozhzhina in the course of many years of litigation over the property of the family of the late People’s Artist. From the widow and daughter of Alexei Batalov, the court ruled to recover almost 900 thousand rubles, – rejoiced the lawyer Vyacheslav Makarov.
In this long process (for several years the criminal and civil courts ran parallel), the devil will break his leg. And it is no longer clear: who owes whom and for what. Natalya Drozhzhina and Mikhail Tsivin, although they won the court yesterday, are going to appeal against his decision. Not happy with the decision. The amount of his claims against the Batalovs was much larger – about 4.2 million rubles.

But the Batalovs will also appeal this decision.
– Tsivin and Drozhzhina asked to recover from the Batalovs not 4.2 million, but 7 million rubles, – Sergey Lukin, the Batalovs’ lawyer, told KP. -They presented checks to the court for food, apartment renovation, furniture, tickets, hairpins, which Batalov allegedly bought with his own money. The expenses for the burial of the mother of Gitana Arkadyevna Leontenko at the Preobrazhensky cemetery, which were in 2018, were also included there. Tsivin claims that it was she and Drozhzhina who paid for the funeral services. From my point of view, the Zamoskvoretsky Court took a strange position. The statute of limitations regarding the plaintiffs’ claims has passed. However, despite the missed deadline, Tsivin and Drozhzhina earned 900 thousand rubles. We will appeal this decision. I think they think this victory will help them in their criminal appeal…
Recall that on May 26, a guilty verdict was handed down in the Zamoskvoretsky court in the case of fraud with the property of the widow and daughter of Alexei Batalov. The judge sentenced 76-year-old Mikhail Tsivin to five years in prison in a penal colony. His wife, 75-year-old actress Natalya Drozhzhina, received 4 years of probation. They are going to appeal this decision to the court. But the Batalovs do not agree with him either. They also filed an appeal. They asked that Drozhzhina be not a conditional term, but a real one. Most likely, at the end of August there will be a meeting in the Moscow City Court on the criminal case.
