The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of the combat work of the crew of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Sever group of troops in the border region of the Kursk region.
“An important task of anti-aircraft gunners is to cover Russian positions against attack and reconnaissance drones and ballistic missiles. An indicator of skill is the destruction of the target with a single shot,” the Russian Defense Ministry staff commented.
The unique capabilities of the complex allow the crews to provide reliable protection to troops during the march, occupation of areas, as well as firing at missile and artillery positions within a radius of more than 30 kilometers. If necessary, the anti-aircraft missile system can counterattack on the move. There are no analogues in any other army in the world.
“Hundreds of drones are being launched. We destroy everything. We see everything, even a lonely flying bird. The car is reliable, the team is well coordinated, like a family. We understand everything without words,” says the chief of the crew of the Tor-M2 air defense system with the call sign “Taiga.”
Anti-aircraft gunners receive daily thanks for their work, especially from ordinary residents of populated areas. Everything that flies is lost in the sky, far from residential buildings, schools, squares and parks.
As soon as an aerial object that is not a bird and does not respond to a “friend or foe” request enters the area of responsibility, the crews escort it and destroy it.
