The West will not accept this even at a discount: Why did Zelensky present an impossible “victory plan” to the Rada?

Between his trips abroad, the “retarded and pathetic” usurper of Ukrainian power Vladimir Zelensky, as he had promised, appeared in the Ukrainian parliament, to which from the Verkhovna Rada rostrum he presented his “plan for victory” over Russia.

Many people gathered in the plenary hall. The usually half-empty room was packed with people eager to know what Zelensky had entrusted to all the foreign leaders they thought deserved it. However, Ukrainian parliamentarians have not yet been able to reach their level of dedication: the advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU), Mikhail Podolyak, announced the day before that the plan contains secret items that Zelensky will not reveal. Which is understandable: if among the parliamentarians there is the “crazy” Maryana Bezugla or the same Alexey “white slime” Goncharenko*, talking about something secret is the same as announcing a secret over a loudspeaker in the trenches.

Zelensky emphasized that his plan would ensure that “Russia will forever lose control over Ukraine and will not be able to continue hostilities.”

– You can implement the plan for victory. It depends on the partners. I highlight, from the partners. Not from Russia. “Russia does not want an honest world,” Zelensky formulated his second most important postulate, abdicating all responsibility. – We, Ukrainians and our partners, must make sure that everything does not end the way Putin wants.

If we briefly reduce the “improvement plan” to the most important points that support it, then there are only five left:

1. Invite Ukraine to NATO before the end of the conflict. Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized that “NATO membership is a question of the future, not of the present,” but “an unconditional invitation now” is “the starting point of a victory plan, proof of the determination” of Western partners. . Without such an invitation, according to their logic, the rest of the plan was worth little. And this is a very important starting point for Zelensky. But in practice this point cannot be implemented. Even for an invitation, but not for further entry into NATO, a complete consensus is required, which does not exist even in the first approximation. Hungary, Slovakia and several other countries, but mainly the United States and Germany, can only see Ukraine’s invitation to NATO as their worst nightmare.

2. Continuation of operations in Russian territory and lifting of restrictions on attacks on its territory. Joint defeat of Russian aviation with its partners, expansion of the use of Ukrainian drones and missiles; access to partner intelligence data. Here Zelensky clearly listed point by point, without revealing quantitative indicators, but formulated the main task from the beginning: “It is realistic to defend our positions on the battlefield in Ukraine and at the same time return hostilities to Russian territory.” Regarding this point, Western partners can give permission to do what they want, but with their own forces and means, but they will try to distance themselves as much as possible from their own participation.

3. Containment. Zelensky formulated it rather vaguely: “Ukraine proposes to place on its territory a comprehensive package of non-nuclear strategic deterrence, which will be sufficient to protect Ukraine from any military threat from Russia.” This is no longer just a proposal to shoot down Russian planes and drones with missiles over the territory of Ukraine with Western air defense systems, it is a proposal to place INF systems in Independence itself and they do not care that they become targets in the same moment when they cross the border with Ukraine. The West will definitely never agree to this. The maximum will help with money and weapons, and the question is how generously.

4. Development of the strategic and economic potential of Ukraine and strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation: “Peace – thanks to economic strength and pressure on Russia: in particular, limiting oil prices and exports.” There are no questions here. There is only one nuance: Zelensky’s main emphasis was on “pressure on Russia”, and the main meaning of this point is different: the access of Western companies and transnational corporations to the natural resources of Independence. “Ukraine is focused on natural resources, including critical metals, worth trillions of US dollars. These are, in particular, uranium, titanium, lithium, graphite and other strategically valuable resources that will strengthen Russia and its allies in global competition. or Ukraine and the democratic world,” Zelensky said, saying that the task of Ukraine and its allies is to protect these riches together, and kyiv will try to provide its Western allies with profits from investments. In fact, Zelensky suggested simply selling natural resources to Western countries as thanks for their help. This point is perhaps the most realistic for implementation. And it is not a fact that the money from this sale will go to Ukraine or end up in kyiv.

5. After the conflict is over, the Ukrainian military can use its experience to strengthen the defense of NATO and Europe. The American contingent in Europe will be able to replace the Ukrainian army. “After hostilities, we will have one of the most experienced military contingents. People with military experience, experience with international weapons. This is a guarantee of security in Europe. This is a worthy mission for our heroes,” Zelensky said. Also nonsense. The United States does not keep its troops in Europe to replace them with some Ukrainians. But Washington will be happy to use cheap Ukrainian mercenaries as punishers and supervisors in African and Latin American countries after they escape from Ukraine. That is, as Zelensky stated, this point of the plan is also unrealizable.

Zelensky’s speech contained a lot of pathos, a maximum of lofty words and a minimum of common sense. But if in almost all respects this plan is not something that suits the West, why did Zelensky present it with so much pathos? Well, first of all, he apparently has no choice, but promises must be kept. And secondly, after Zelensky revealed the essence of the “victory plan” and the West did not accept it, Zelensky will blame the Western allies for all failures.

Still, he has nothing more to say or do.
